From Hwy 101 turn at L St to Waterfront Drive. Lots of parking on both corners of streets.
COOPER GULCH PARK and
MYRTLE GROVE MEMORIAL CEMETERY
south on Myrtle Ave. Take 8th St (second turn on right). Follow road to Parking Lot.
Loop through BLM restored Wet Lands
Hwy 101, a mile north of Eureka, turn at Mid Century Motors. Make quick left turn to Parking Area. Do not take turn to Motor Showrooms.
along Humboldt Bay
From Broadway, just south of Bayshore Mall, turn west on Truesdale Ave (Marie Callendar’s on corner). Parking Lot is at far end of street.
City of Eureka Elk River Wildlife Area
Going south on Broadway (Hwy 101) turn west on Hilfiker Lane. (One block north of Pierson Building Center). Hilfiker Lane bends to left, proceed to Parking Lot at end. Parking Area at bend, on right useful for taking short walk north on Hikshari Trail.
HISTORIC DOWNTOWN EUREKA
Park in Downtown Eureka. Walk down F St to Bay Front and Eureka Boardwalk.
HUMBOLDT AREA FOUNDATION (HAF)
Loop in the Woods
North of Eureka. Exit Hwy 101 at Indianola Cutoff. Drive up hill. Turn LEFT onto Indianola Road, go very short distance, turn left through Entry Poles (open during day). Park in lot. Walk to upper HC Parking.
MARINA and EUREKA WATERFRONT
Walk past boats, fishing and logging sites
Wharfinger Building Parking Lot adjacent to Marina.
From Broadway (Hwy 101) turn west on West Washington St. At end turn RIGHT onto Waterfront Dr. Turn left at next street. Parking Lot is on right.
SEQUOIA PARK by the ZOO
Wander many trails in this historic Eureka park
From Hwy 101 go south west on Myrtle Ave. Turn right at Harrison Ave (traffic light). Turn RIGHT onto Harris St then LEFT onto W St. Just past Zoo turn RIGHT onto MADRONE AVE. Park by Playground.
Walkabout and Weather Monitors
Samoa Bridge over Humboldt Bay. Turn off at Woodley Island. Follow road around to end and park in lot by the Fisherman Sculpture.
Walk to Historic Carson Mansion, then back track to Waterfront Park and Samoa Bridge.
Early birds catch less Frisbie Action. Skate Park antics are fun to watch. Walk past Montessori School, slip through gate to Cemetery.
Closed during Bird Migration
Duck hunters go to furthest end of area, beyond mowed loop trail around wetlands pond.
Muddy after rains.

ALL ACCESS TRAIL. Completed in 2013. Part of future Trail from Herrick Rd Park & Ride to Target.
Glorious walk, especially on sunny day. Loop trail for part of way. At RR tracks, follow
to go over bridge and down
to dunes and Bay.

Here’s a lovely route for short Forest Experience. Short up hill in a couple of places. Wooden bench set in meadow along trail. Walk trail in both directions for more distance.
Easy paved walk with commercial fishing and logging activities along the way. Marina slips are open during day.
Rest Rooms at Playground.
Main area of Park is accessible by car. Duck Pond is interesting feature. Walk up and back on many shorter trails.
Public Rest Room by Slips.
Weather Station (on right as you drive in) has interesting gauges and monitors. Ask at office for permission to enter fenced area in parking lot.
HSU has large ketch, used for research, docked at west end.
